Today was the first real day on the pediatric floor. My patient is an awesome 3-year old boy who is in the middle of treatment for leukemia. We got off to a slow start, but by 10am he was laughing and playing and calling me Farty Matt. I look forward to seeing him again tomorrow.
Toddlers and older children have regular hospital beds, but babies stay in horrible metal baby jails.
