I saw DeVotchKa at The Vic tonight with Julie. My favorite part was when the aerialists performed during the encore, which probably says a little about what I thought of the show. (I was without camera, so I pilfered this from the internet.)

Trupe:(via email) Meador, I think DeVotchka is totally nerdy and boring. I'm guessing Julie loves it? Bring a crossword and maybe a portable TV.

It was too dark for the crossword and I couldn't get any reception on the TV, so I had no choice but to pay attention to the show. They are incredible musicians, but I just couldn't get into the music or even like them as performers. I really dug a couple songs, but besides that, I thought they were joyless and wooden and took themselves way too seriously.
